Rancho Polo EHV-1 Update & Policies
Please note we are taking the steps to illuminate non-boarders from coming onto the property at Ranch Polo.
The purpose is to secure the safety and well being of all horses here on the ranch grounds. Understanding the virus can be transmitted by humans AND dogs, we are taking the next step to keep all horses at Rancho Polo safe. There will be an onsite employee asking you to answer a few questions before entering property.
VISITOR POLICY
Please note we are changing to boarders only and essential visitors such as, farriers, veterinarians, owners of horses and trainers. Until further notice all non-essential visitors will NOT be allowed on property. Our purpose is to reduce contact from horse show to Rancho Polo grounds without taking all precautions necessary.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The EHV-1 is extremely contagious. Change of clothing, foot wear, showering if coming from the horse show to RP will be required. Since the virus can be transmitted by humans AND dogs, please keep your dogs in your barns.
Rancho Polo EHV-1 Barn Protocols
Protocols now in place for the protection of all horses as of 2/21/22:
1. Outside each barn is a Clorox® spray bottle. Please spray bottom of your boots. Latex gloves are also there for you to use touching the spray bottles etc.
2. Sanitizer bottles are in each barn—please use them!
3. Staff will be sanitizing the barn clips, chains, and top of doors in each barn two times per day. If you are handling this yourselves and do not want staff in your barns, please advise us.
4. Temperatures are MANDATORY to be taken TWO TIMES DAILY. This is the QUICKEST WAY to know if we have an infected horse on site. Rancho Polo is preparing Daily Temperature Charts for each barn that will need to be filled out.
5. Please come here BEFORE the Horse Show, or SHOWER and DISINFECT boots, etc. BEFORE ENTERING Rancho Polo.
6. HORSE BOARDERS, OWNERS, TRAINERS, and ESSENTIAL PERSONS ONLY ARE ALLOWED ON SITE.
7. Staff will be at the front gate on Tuesday to monitor those who enter the property for the safety of the horses. Please note that the front gate attendant is DOING THEIR JOB to make sure that ONLY people who BELONG are here.
